12th International Drainage Workshop (IDW)

The 12th International Drainage Workshop (IDW) will be hosted by the ICID’s Russian National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage (RuCID) in Saint Petersburg (Pushkin), Russia from 23-26 June 2014.

The main theme of the Workshop is ‘Drainage on Wetland Agricultural Areas’ and has seven sub-topics i.e.
(a) New equipment and modern technology drainage construction in wetlands;
(b) Efficiency of the use of reclaimed land and socio-economic aspects of the use of reclaimed land;
(c) Drainage design and methods of calculating;
(d) Advanced training of specialists: constructors and engineers in the field of drainage systems management and operation;
(e) An integrated ap-proach to the management of drainage and environmental protection;
(f) Using reclaimed land for agricultural purposes; and
(g) History of the drainage system development.

RuCID has also kindly agreed to fully waive off the Registration Fee for ten Young Professionals from developing countries to facilitate their participation in the 12th IDW.

Young professionals willing to avail the waiver of full registration fee are requested to apply to the organizing Committee of 12th IDW.

The ‘Early Bird’ registration is now open for the 12th International Drainage Workshop till 1st May 2014. For Non-Member Countries: (i) EUR 600 for Partic-ipant-observer; EUR 300 (Young Professionals); EUR 250 (Accompany person).
