SMAP launches e-learning course on Environmental Economics
The
SMAP programme for the Environment and Sustainable Development in the
Mediterranean Region is inviting anyone interested to sign up for its
e-learning course on Environmental Economics, available in English and
Arabic.
Environmental
Economics helps determine the monetary value of environmental assets
and of the degradation of those assets. The module is aimed at anyone
interested in discovering the advantages and the mechanisms of
environmental economics, as well as understanding how it can support
decision-making.
The
course is divided into 9 lessons, each of which should take 2 to 3
hours to complete. Theory is presented in clear, accessible language
and is complemented by practical examples, mainly from the
Euro-Mediterranean context.
SMAP
III supports the Mediterranean Partner Countries in their efforts to
prevent environmental degradation, improve environmental standards and
integrate environmental considerations in their policies. Funded by the
Regional Programme, it promotes sustainable development and supports
high priority environmental related activities, through technical and
financial assistance.
