Responsibilities, related to water resources and environmental management, include:

• programmatic/administrative tasks;
• monitoring developments in national and regional progress towards strengthening water policies, institutional frameworks and manpower development in water and environment sectors, with focus on conventional and non-conventional water resources, water use efficiency, and waste disposal;
• identifying regional challenges induced by climate change;
• research on integrating environmental consideration within Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM).
