EGU 2008: IS22-HS2.1 Session on "Climate, Water and Health"-- Last Call For Abstracts
The EGU 2008 will be held in Vienna, Austria, April 13-18, 2008. This
Interdisciplinary Session is designed to explore the integrated
hydro-climatic-population health system. Contributions are sought that shed
light on the following issues:
1. Inter-linkages of climate change with water resources and population
health, including
surface temperatures, extreme weather events, water shortages, and
waterborne diseases.
2. Current data and information bases on water resources conditions and
variations, in a climatic
context, over a range of space-time scales, and health impacts.
3. Development of climate-sensitive adaptive strategies to changing patterns
of water availability using analytical and statistical methods.
4. Modelling tools for generating integrated solutions to
climate-water-health problems, including precipitation-water quality
degradation relationships and public health effects.
5. Stochastic spatiotemporal analysis of water variables, hydrologic
extremes, space-time dependence functions, and water-related natural
disasters.
6. Enhancing understanding of uncertainty measures and their effective use
concerning the
interacting impacts of climate variability, water scarcity, and health
issues.
7. Scale compatibility of model linkages, particularly in the linking of
atmospheric hydrologic-health models.
The deadline for abstract submission is: 14 January 2008.
