The Final NOVIWAM Conference

The Final NOVIWAM Conference, organised by NOVIWAM Consortium, will take place in Seville (Spain) on the 21st and 22nd January 2013.

The Final NOVIWAM event will facilitate exchange of knowledge, matchmaking and networking with stakeholders of diverse profiles, providing a room and a layout for future projects and collaborations.

The first day is inspired on the structure of NOVIWAM Joint Action Plan (JAP) in which regional water challenges take the shape of RTD&I and stakeholders capacitation objectives. The second day will focus on the interfaces of knowledge production on water with policy, management, funding and EU institutions.

The language of the event is English, although interpreting to Spanish will be ensured.

Conference Information

Speakers representing water authorities, the European Commission, academia, the business sector and the civil society will contribute with their views on water management RTD&I.

The conference will be structured in 2 thematic sessions and a parallel brokerage event on the first day and 2 more sessions on the second day, as follows:

THEMATIC SESSIONS

STRATEGIC RTD&I TOPICS ON WATER

Leading voices on water management RTD&I will help the audience to think outside the box and to understand last breakthroughs on fields of expertise included within the scientific objectives of the NOVIWAM JAP. 

LINKING USERS AND GENERATORS OF WATER RTD&I

Water-related projects trying to bridge knowledge production, management and communication among stakeholders. The session will gather experiences where the collaboration of triple helix actors (authorities, researchers and businesses) is a success.

WATER POLICY AND RTD&I IN THE EU

EC representatives will provide an update on the Blueprint to safeguard Europe's Waters, EIP on water or Horizon 2020 among others.

BUILDING STRATEGIC AGENDAS ON WATER RTD&I

Plenary session on leadership experiences at developing and implementing research or innovation agendas in the water sector; having both the private and the public perspective. The following roundtable and open debate will address water-related challenges and RTD&I building on the conclusions of the whole conference.

BROKERAGE EVENT

The conference will also include a parallel Brokerage Event on the 21st of January aiming to enhance opportunities to explore and find partners, mainly from the water, agriculture and RTD&I sector. The activity will focus on one-to-one pre-scheduled meetings.
