This is a survey on the availability of data necessary to assess the water scarcity and drought in the different countries. We would like you to fill-in the Excel file and return it to us by the end of January, in order to get sufficient time to prepare an analysis for the working group meeting. During this meeting, we will also have the opportunity to discuss WS-D management plans prepared by some countries. If such plan has been prepared in your country, we would appreciate receiving a copy in preparation of the meeting.

We will also put online a customised version of the reporting tool set-up by water topic center of the European Environment Agency -EEA- to collect data on WS-D in Europe.

This report provides a good overview of the information available so far in the Mediterranean Region. The conclusions of the report point out the issues that need to be further addressed in order to progress towards a Mediterranean system of information on water scarcity and droughts.
