GLOBAL WATER SCARCITY REPORT

This month the University of Twente published for the first time global monthly blue water scarcity maps. The maps form a milestone in water scarcity studies. Not only for the first time water scarcity is shown on a monthly basis (rather than an annual basis), but also water use is measured in terms of consumptive water use (the blue water footprint) rather than in terms of water withdrawals. The new maps are a crucial component in assessing the sustainability of water footprints. Download the Global Water Scarcity report:

WATERSTAT – A NEW GLOBAL WATER DATA BASE
