Tunisia to launch tenders for new desalination and water treatment projects
The government will launch early 2019, four major tenders for the creation of a desalination water plant, generating electricity requiring investments worth 2,000 million dinars (MD) and renewable energy projects worth 2,500 MD, said Saturday Prime Minister Youssef Chahed.
The government intends to publish a call for tenders for the creation of a 450 megawatt-power plant in Skhirat worth 1,100 MD, a 50 thousand cubic metre-water desalination plant dedicated to the Chemical Group at the cost of 227 MD, he pointed out in the government Declaration before the House of People’s Representatives.
Chahed also spoke about the Tunis North 90 thousand litre-water treatment plant, the launch of tenders for the construction of waste treatment plants in Gabes, Sousse and Bizerte worth 400 MD.
