2nd Mediterranean Water Forum, Murcia, November 2014
From 25 to 27 November 2014, Murcia became the Mediterranean capital of Water with more than 250 participants coming from all Mediterranean countries. During the opening ceremony of the Mediterranean Water Forum, Charafat Afailal, the Moroccan Minister in charge of water, reaffirmed the interest of the Kingdom for these exchanges and its commitment to the Mediterranean Knowledge Platform that was discussed during the 2nd day with the UfM secretariat, the Mediterranean Water Institute, MENBO and EMWIS. During the side events organised on the 25 November, several FP7 water and innovation projects funded by the European Commission were presented to the participants: Smart Water management –SAID, Water and energy irrigation efficiency –WEAM4i, Optimisation of irrigation –Opiris. Finally, this 2nd edition of the Forum prepared the Mediterranean regional contribution to the next World Water Forum that will be held in Korea in 2015.
