Right2Water campaign wins prestigious civil society award

The right2water campaign was nominated for the best campaign of the year award of the European civic forum, a transnational European network of over 100 civil society organisations from the EU member states. Individuals could vote for the nominees and the Right2Water campaign was voted the best.

The award was presented to Anne-Marie Perret, President of the European Citizens Committee and President of EPSU by the deputy Mayor of Strasbourg, 3 May 2014. She drew attention to the demands of the ECI for the European Commission to present legislation to introduce the human right to water and sanitation in the EU based on the UN resolution on the same right of 2010. She also recalled the support for the ECI of many NGOs. Anne-Marie was accompanied by Didier Dumont, CGT-SP and coordinator of the ECI in France.
