“5^th INTERNATIONAL YELLOW RIVER FORUM”
ZHENGZHOU – China – 24 to 28 September 2012
« SPECIAL INBO – GWP THEMATICAL SESSION »

Dear Madam, Dear Sir, Dear Friends,

I remind those of you, who have not yet registered, that a «Special Thematic session» on “stakeholders participation, water governance and stewardship in River Basins management”, will be organized by INBO, jointly with GWP, on next 27 September 2012 in the morning, at the invitation of our Chinese colleagues of the Yellow River Conservancy Commission – YRCC, during the next « International Yellow River Forum », which will be held:

From 24 to 28 September 2012
in ZHENGZHOU – CHINA

We invite you to participate in this important international event to which a lot of Chinese and foreign participants are already registered.

Our « INBO – GWP Special Thematical Session» will be dedicated to “Participatory approach in IWRM” and organized around main current topics in basins management and on the processes, tools and techniques used:

1. Role of Regions/Provinces, Municipalities and other Local Authorities, water users and stakeholders in river basin planning, adaptation to climate changes and IWRM implementation,
2. Experiences of Basin Committees,
3. General public, women, young people, teachers, journalists information, participation and training,
4. Funding of basin management plans and programmes of investment and measures, solidarity mechanisms between water users and upstream – downstream common cause.

We shall work in English.

You are invited to present a paper on your experience: if not already sent to our Chinese Colleagues at YRCC, the title, the summary and the complete text should reach us on 1st September 2012 at the latest, at the address: inbo@wanadoo.fr .

INBO objective is to allow Basin Organizations, International bodies and NGO interested in modern basin management and the companies and consulting firms which work with them, coming from all around the World, to informally meet their Chinese colleagues and to exchange their practical field experiences and techniques.

You will find any information on the 5^th IYRF 2012 on the website www.riverforum.cn, as well as the forms necessary for your registration. For any information on the Forum you can also contact the YRCC at the following address: iyrf@yrcc.gov.cn or iyrf@hotmail.com .

Any useful information, programmes and proposed papers for the “INBO – GWP Thematical session” will be continuously available on the website www.inbo-news.org .

In order to facilitate the good organization of the meeting and your best welcoming in ZHENGZHOU, we thank you in advance for:

• kindly sending, at your earliest convenience, to our YRCC Chinese friends (iyrf@yrcc.gov.cn), the IYRF registration form to be also downloaded from the IYRF Forum website, and
• retuning to INBO Permanent Technical Secretariat (inbo@wanadoo.fr) the participation form for the «Special INBO – GWP Thematical session».

Your hotel booking at group price can be made for you by our Chinese hosts, depending of your wishes (see IYRF registration form). INBO Secretariat has booked at the Novotel.

Unfortunately, INBO cannot take charge of your air travels and hotel accommodation in Zhengzhou.
