1. Senior Lecturer/Reader/Chair in International Development and Environment (DEV)   Senior Lecturer/Reader: £45,486 to £52,706 per annum

The School of International Development at the University of East Anglia (www.uea.ac.uk/dev) is recruiting a senior post as part of its strategic plan to build its internationally recognised research on environmental change and international development. In particular we welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate outstanding research achievements and potential in the areas of climate change and development, water security, or global environmental justice.

You must have a PhD or equivalent level of qualification, in a relevant discipline or subject area and be able to satisfy all the essential criteria detailed in the person specification for the relevant post. The post is available on a full-time basis from 1 September 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter.

2. Lecturer in Environmental Science & Policy (ENV)

£38,140 to £44,166 per annum

Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Environmental Science and Policy in the School of Environmental Sciences. The successful applicant will have a background in human geography, science and technology studies or political science and have experience of researching interactions between science and policy-making in relation to pressing environmental concerns. They will contribute to internationally-recognised research of the Science, Society and Sustainability (3S) Group in this area and will be expected to work with other disciplines and research groups in the School. Teaching contributions will include delivering a new module in the area of environmental science and policy that will be essential to existing and possible new Masters programmes in the School.

The post is linked to our recently established Science, Society and Sustainability (3S) Group, a collective of environmental social scientists working at the interface between geography and STS to understand relations between science, policy and society in response to sustainability challenges (see www.3s.uea.ac.uk).

3. Reader in Climate Change (ENV)

£45,486 to £52,706 per annum

Applications are invited for the post of Reader in Climate Change in the School of Environmental Sciences, University of East Anglia. The successful applicant will be expected to research and teach on the social science dimensions of climate change. The post is linked to the internationally renowned Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, which is headquartered at the School of Environmental Sciences. The postholder will be expected to lead cutting-edge research in the wider Tyndall consortium, and forge productive alliances within and across the rest of the School and UEA. The person should be highly motivated with an internationally recognised research reputation that enhances the School's existing strengths in relation to climate change adaptation, the policy/governance of climate change, or public understanding/behaviour change.

You will contribute to the teaching and assessment of Undergraduate and Masters level modules in the general area of climate change. The School has several undergraduate degrees, including a brand new BSc programme in Environmental Geography and Climate Change, as well as a long-running MSc in Climate Change.
