Kick off meeting of the WssTP Task force on Water Reuse

About 30 participants representing organisations from 14 different countries attended the launch of the TF on Water Reuse in Paris on December 9th, chaired by Thomas Wittgens (FHNW) and David Smith (CTM) . Various presentations were made including example projects on water re-use in industry (AquaFit4Use), and on water re-use in Latin America (Coroado). Paul Jeffrey (Cranfield Water Science Institute) widened theresearch debate beyond technical issues by discussing “the irrationality and anxiety in public debates on water re-use”. Breakout sessions were held under sub-headings of “Industry”, “Agriculture” and “Urban” to begin to articulate and capture water reuse RTD needs for each of these areas. A follow up meeting of the TF has been scheduled for 23rd March 2012 to be hosted by CTM in Barcelona. |
