News The new EWA President Prof Pertti Seuna has stepped into his duty

Hennef, July 2011 – At the EWA Council meeting on the 1st July 2011, the EWA President Dr Jean Philippe Torterotot (FR) handed over his honorary position to Prof. Pertti Seuna (FI).

Dr Jean Philippe Torterotot received fulsome appraisal from the Council members for his contribution and hard work as a President of EWA for the period of ser-vice 2009-2011.

Werner Flögl (AT) was appointed Vice President.

 

The new President – Prof. Ph.D. Pertti Seuna

( Finland ) has worked as research manager and director of environmental monitoring and assessment of the Water and Environmental Administration of Finland. During the last 10 years he also acted in the Supreme Administration Court of Finland as an Environmental Expert Councillor. Professor Seuna is presently the vice-president of the Water Association Finland (Suomen Vesiyhdistys r.y.) after  his long presidency in it. He represents the national member association in the Council of the EWA.

 

The new Vice President – Werner Flögl ( Austria ) represents the Austrian Association for Water and Waste Management in the Council of the EWA. Mr Flögl is also a Vice-President of the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD). Since 2005 he is a member of the EWA Management Committee and contributes to the activities of the Association.

 

Changes in the Management Committee of EWA

Mr Peter Cook (UK) leaves the Management Committee to which he was a member as the Past President. His place will be taken for the next two years by Dr Jean Philippe Torterotot. One new member has joined the Management Committee – Mr Paul Horton (UK). Mr Horton represents the EWA national member association from UK , CIWEM.
