Water and Justice: Peri-urban Pathways in Delhi: Peri-urban zones (between sub-urbs and countryside) pose a peculiar mix of challenges with respect to water governance and service delivery. This video, produced by STEPS Centre, attempts to paint a picture through the stories of three people-- a grandmother, a farmer and an activist—who have taken action get better water for their families and communities.

Chinese growth leads uneven gains in rural poverty: A snapshot of IFAD’s Rural Poverty Report 2011. The report highlights how/why some regions have done better than others. It points out that an agenda is emerging for sustainable agricultural intensification—with practices aimed at improving soil fertility, structure and water-retaining capacity , and at using water more sparingly and efficiently.
