IWRM-Net Final Conference

The ERANET “IWRM-NET” held its final conference on December 1st-3rd in Brussels. The opening session particularly addressed the different initiatives undertaken by the European Commission to boost research and innovation in the water sector.

Peter Gammeltoft, of DG Environment, presented the Blue Print and announced the future design of a research agenda in collaboration with DG RTD. Andrea Tilche, DG RTD, gave an overview of the on-going activities and various initiatives on water at the European policy level underlying the need to boost the sector’s investment and to develop a coordinated and integrated ‘Water European Research Area’.
