News UfM challenges in focus at 28th Malta seminar for Euro-Mediterranean diplomats

The 28th Information and Training Seminar for Euro-Med Diplomats ‘Malta Seminar' kicks off in Malta today, from 23 to 26 April 2010, with discussions focused around the challenges facing the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM).

The three-day seminar will address, among other topics: the UfM and the Spanish Presidency, an Arab perspective on the UfM, the UfM and the energy security challenge, as well as sessions on globalisation and the Mediterranean, trade and investment issues, and the role of civil society. Participants include EC and national officials, researchers and academics. 

Malta Seminars for diplomats is an EU-funded project that carries out training for EU and Mediterranean diplomats aiming to provide them with regular and updated information on the European Institutions and the key aspects of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership. The Euro-Mediterranean Information and Training Seminars for Diplomats help to improve information flows, allow for exchanges of ideas and promote dialogue. The project also has a valuable networking function.
