PhD Position in Groundwater Management, Technical University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain
The Institute for Water and Environmental
Engineering, IIAMA (Technical University of Valencia, Spain), invites
applications for a PhD research assistantship. The duration is initially for
three years. The research will be performed in the framework of the project
"Groundwater and Dependent Ecosystems: New Scientific and Technical Basis for
Assessing Climate Change and Land-use Impacts on Groundwater Systems - GENESIS ", funded by the 7th
Framework Programme of the European Commission. This project involves 26
partners of over 20 countries. The research objective is to develop an
integrated hydro-economic modelling framework for selecting sustainable measures
and management strategies to achieve a good quantitative and chemical
groundwater status, with application to selected case studies.
Candidates
should have a recent MSc in Water Resources Management or similar, be fluent in
English, and be highly-motivated to work in an interdisciplinary research field.
Basic knowledge of Spanish and previous experience in hydrogeology and
groundwater modelling would be an advantage.
