Call for papers for the International Conference on Energy, Environment and Water Desalination

The International Conference on Energy, Environment and Water Desalination will take place in Tripoli (Libya) in 17-18 November 2009. It is organised by the International Energy Foundation (IEF) with the aim to address the role of energy in desalination and effluent treatment technologies with the objective of optmizing the design and management of energy and water systems especially in countries with limited water and/or energy resources.

Deadlines: Authors are invited to submit abstracts limited to 500 words in English and Arabic by 30/09/2009 and full papers by 30/10/2009.

The program of the conference includes: plenary, technical and poster sessions. An exhibition featuring various aspects of water desalination and environment technology will be held during the period of the conference at "That El-Emad" Conference Center.

1. Brackish water desalination: process design, energy and economics
2. Sea water desalination: process design, energy and economics
3. Effluent desalination: process design, energy and economics
4. Effluent reclamation and reuse: process design, energy and economics
5. Use of clean renewable sources of energy.
6. Education and training in energy and environment
7. Wastewater treatment processes.
8. Solar desalination.
9. Desalination technology for water reuse
10. CHP for electricity generation & water desalination
11. New developments in waste heat recovery.

Organizers: IEF in cooperation with Al-Fatah University, Islamic Education Scientific and Culture Organization (ISESCO), Libyan Petroleum Institute (LPI), United Nation Development Program (UNDP), Environment General Authority (EGA) and Water Public Authority.
