Middle East Desalination Research Centre looking for a Director

The Middle East Desalination Research Centre (MEDRC) was established in 1996 as part of the Multilateral Middle East Peace Process to conduct research and training in water desalination technology and supporting fields, and to facilitate and support the work of others in those fields. It aims to raise the standard of living in the Middle East and elsewhere by supporting work that can lead to cost reduction and quality improvement in the technical processes of water desalination.

The current Director is moving on after 10 years and we wish to find a successor to start by early 2009. A major new Headquarters facility opened in March 2008, increasing MEDRC’s ability to carry out its mission. This will be an exciting time to take over.

The new Director will be a charismatic leader and outstanding manager with highly developed skills in diplomacy, and the ability to understand and communicate about scientific material, without necessarily being a scientist.
