Turkey: Mitigating Flood Risk in Flooded Areas in the GAP region
The global objective of this assignment is to increase the efficiency and
the effectiveness of the 'Mitigating flood risk in flooded areas in the GAP
region' project:
a) minimising the effects of the floods occurred in the Southeastern
Anatolia Region in October-November 2006;
b) supporting local initiatives for eliminating and/or minimising risks that
may happen in future. The project covers all provinces, namely Batman,
Diyarbakir, Mardin, Siirt, Sanliurfa and Sirnak, that were affected by the
flood in 2006.
The technical assistance team will be responsible to provide support to the
beneficiary on provision of implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the
grant schemes and post-grant training to the grant beneficiaries, and
capacity building trainings and activities on flood risk and disaster
management for local authorities.
There must be a minimum period of 30 calendar days between the publication
of this contract forecast and the publication of the corresponding
procurement notice. No applications or requests for information should be
sent at this stage.
