News Amina Benkhadra new Minister of Energy, Mining, Water and Environment, and Abdelkébir Zahoud new Secretary of State to the Minister of Energy, Mining, Water and Environment, in charge of Water and Environment.

King Mohammed VI of Morocco on Monday appointed the new Government upon proposal of Prime Minister Abbas El Fassi whose conservative Istiqlal (independence) Party won the September 7 legislative elections. For the first time in Morocco's history, seven women will be part of a government including 5 ministers and 2 Secretaries of State.  

Amina Benkhadra became the new Minister of Energy, Mining, Water and Environment, and Abdelkébir Zahoud became the Secretary of State to the Minister of Energy, Mining, Water and Environment, in charge of Water and Environment.
