Joint action by UN Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation and African stakeholders
A joint action statement between the United Nations Secretary General’s Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation (UNSGAB) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group has been signed. The UNSGAB released “The Compendium of Actions” also known as the Hashimoto Action Plan that outlines a global work plan to help ensure the attainment of the MDG for water and sanitation. Participants committed themselves to the following joint actions: Focus international and African heads of government attention on African water challenges; mobilize financial resources; and increasing capacity for water management, water supply and sanitation in Africa.
