News XIIIth World Water Congress Call for papers

The IWRA (International Water Resource Association) invites the community of scientists, professionals and stakeholders in water resources to participate in the XIIIth World Water Congress in Montpellier (France) – 1-4 September 2008. The main theme of the Congress is: “Global Change and Water Resources – confronting the expanding and diversifying pressures”. This is further divided into 8 key topic areas: 1. Water availability, use and management. 2. Towards the future: water resources and global change. 3. Climate change and disasters. 4. Development of water resources and infrastructure. 5. Water governance and water security: 30 years after the UN Mar del Plata conference of 1977. 6. Water conservation and demand management. 7. Financing water development and capacity building. 8. Capacity building in developing countries. Numerous side events, key note lectures, technical exhibitions and cultural activities are planned for the water community and the general public.

Note that the deadline to submit an abstract is 31 March 2007. Oral communications or poster presentations will be selected by an International Scientific Committee. Decisions will be communicated on 30 June 2007. The final date for complete text submission is 31 January 2008. The submission of abstracts is only possible “on-line” and requires you to register by creating an account at the above web address.
