News African, German financial institutions to fund highway, water projects in Morocco

The African Development Bank and the African Development Fund have granted Morocco two loans totalling $251m. The first $148m loan will be used for financing an $864m highway project, while the second loan of $103m will help provide drinking water to 350,000 people and fund sanitation projects in rural areas.

A $94m loan agreement was signed Friday (21 July) in Frankfurt by the German Bank for Development. The money will help Morocco's drinking water utility finance four projects on the extension and reinforcement of the drinking water supply system and wastewater management in several Moroccan cities.
