Preparatory Meeting for a coordinated Mediterranean intervention at the 5th World Water Forum 2009

The World Water Forum 2009 will take place in Istanbul, Turkey, and constitutes a major global water event that take place every 3 years organised by the World Water Council and the host country.

The meeting will be part of the regional preparatory process towards the Forum and will discuss Mediterranean priority issues to be presented in Istanbul as well as a time-frame for carrying out the consultation in the region. The Mediterranean process will be coordinated by a group of organisations.

As you will notice, the events also include the General Assembly of the Euro-Mediterranean Irrigators Community (EIC) and a Roundtable on Irrigation Water Management in the Mediterranean Countries. These events are organised by EIC and will take place in the morning of Sunday, 21 October. EIC is an active member of GWP-Med and we are very glad to host the EIC meetings in GWP-Med premises, 12 Kyrristou str, Plaka, Athens.
