Event 25th Session of the Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum: “Globalization and the Environment” and “International Environmental Governance”.

 

The GCSF-10 will focus on the themes of “Globalization and the Environment” and “International Environmental Governance”.

The GCSF-10 will be held prior to the twenty-fifth session of the Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), to be held in Nairobi, Kenya, from 16 to 20 February 2009.

The twenty-fifth session of the Council/Forum will hold consultations at ministerial level on emerging policy issues under the themes of “Globalization and the Environment” and “International Environmental Governance” besides considering reports on important issues in the field of the Environment.

As per the Rule 69 of the Rules of Procedures of the Governing Council of UNEP, you are invited to attend the Council/Forum as an observer, provided that your organisation is accredited to UNEP. Please register to the meeting and provide us the name(s) of the representative(s) of your organization by using the link: http://www.unep.org/civil_society/cso_meetings/.

In the event your organisation is not accredited, we invite you, as per the Rules of Procedures of the Governing Council of UNEP, to submit the following information to alexandra.karekaho@unep.org:

    • documents showing your field (s) of expertise and experience;
    • documents showing your international scope.
  • We will then come back to you to confirm your accreditation for the meeting.
