Conference on Wetland restoration as Nature-based Solutions in the Mediterranean

The  Online Conference on “Wetland restoration as Nature-based Solutions in the Mediterranean”, organized by the Union for the Mediterranean and MedWet in the framework of the UfM labelled project, “the Wetland-based Solutions Programme”. This conference will be held on the 16th November 2021, 10.00-13.00 CET.

Registration through this link is required. Only participants registered by 1st November 2021 will be receiving the link and instructions to access the online conference. The conference will be held in English, French and Arabic, and will be recorded.

WHAT IS THE OBJECTIVE?
The Conference on Wetland restoration as Nature-based Solutions in the Mediterranean is an opportunity to raise awareness, to promote convergence of efforts and to seek support from decision-makers around the significance of these ecosystems and their key role in order to translate the expert knowledge and lessons learnt into informed decision making.The Conference will provide insight into the main concepts, most effective tools to restore coastal wetlands and a series of success stories from both shores of the Mediterranean will be presented to inspire and boost wetlands restoration across the Region.

WHO IS ORGANIZING IT?The Union of the Mediterranean Secretariat, an intergovernmental institution bringing together 42 countries to promote dialogue and cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean region, and MedWet, the Mediterranean Wetlands Initiative bringing together 27 Mediterranean and peri-Mediterranean countries Parties to the Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar, Iran, 1971), in the framework of the Wetland-based Solutions Programme.WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?A draft agenda is available   here for your consideration.
