Kick-off meeting of the 2nd Mediterranean Water Forum

When holding the 1st Mediterranean Water Forum on 19-20 December 2011 in Marrakesh (Morocco), the main stakeholders from the Mediterranean water and environmental community had launched a call to organize the 2nd Mediterranean Water Forum.

 During the Mediterranean Session held in Marseille at the 6th World Water Forum in March 2012, the President of the Region of Murcia, Mr. Luis Ramon Varcarcel, suggested to host and organize this second event in Murcia (Spain) that will take place towards next November 2014.

 The Institut Méditerranéen de l’Eau (IME) and the Foundation Euro-Mediterranean Water Institute (F-IEA) are willing to organize the Kick-off meeting of the 2nd Mediterranean Water Forum, with the support of the Kingdom of Morocco, under the aegis of the Ministry of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment, to be held on June 18th, 2014 in Rabat, Morocco.

 On this occasion, the Mediterranean preparatory process of the 7th World Water Forum will be launched by organizing its first meeting of the Steering Committee this day.

Lors de la tenue du 1^er Forum Méditerranéen de l’Eau les 19 et 20 décembre 2011 à Marrakech (Maroc), les principales parties prenantes de la communauté méditerranéenne de l’eau et de l’environnement ont lancé un appel pour l’organisation du 2^ème Forum Méditerranéen de l’Eau qui aura lieu en Murcie (Espagne) en novembre prochain.

Au cours de la session méditerranéenne tenue à Marseille lors du 6^ème Forum Mondial de l’Eau en Mars 2012, le Président de la Région de Murcie, Mr Luis Ramon Varcarcel, a proposé d’accueillir et d’organiser ce deuxième évènement méditerranéen à Murcie (Espagne).

L’Institut Méditerranéen de l’Eau (IME) et l’Institut Euro-Méditerranéen de l’Eau (F-IEA) se proposent d’organiser un atelier régional de lancement du 2^ème Forum Méditerranéen de l’Eau avec le soutien du Royaume du Maroc, sous l’égide du Ministère de l’Energie, des Mines, de l’Eau et de l’Environnement, en charge de l’Eau et qui se tiendra le 18 juin 2014 à Rabat au Maroc.

A cette occasion, le processus préparatoire méditerranéen du 7^ème Forum Mondial de l’Eau sera lancé par la tenue de la première réunion de son comité d’organisation.
