POSTPONED to 2012: "Seminar on National and Trans-boundary Water Ressources Management in Africa"
The African Development Institute (EADI) in collaboration with the Water and Sanitation Department (OWAS) and the African Water Facility (AWF), will hold from 19 to 22 December 2011, a regional seminar on “National and Trans-boundary Water Resources Management in Africa" in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It will be conducted in English and will be organized in six sessions followed by discussions.
The overall objective of the seminar is to contribute to improving the management and development of water resources in countries and river basins and aquifers in Africa, including capacity building of policy makers, senior administrative personnel in charge of water resources management and key development actors involved in the water sector.
The specific objectives of the seminar are:
(a) present the main instruments of
implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) principles at
country level,regional and basin levels,
(b) share experiences on the
development of IWRM instruments at different levels ,
(c) conduct a review of progress
at national, regional and basin and aquifers levels in the use of IWRM instruments.
