Event EUREKA Inter-Cluster pre-brokerage event

On behalf of ACQUEAU and the EUREKA ICT clusters (CATRENE, CELTIC-PLUS, EURIPIDES and ITEA2), I would like to remind you to register to attend our upcoming pre-brokerage event.

ACQUEAU would like to give you the opportunity to help shape the direction of our next call for proposals, network and discuss the details of collaborative Pan-European research opportunities in 2012.

The event is scheduled over 2 days:

Day 1 is dedicated to  Sensor Grids for Water Distribution Networks & Wastewater Collection Systems and will be particularly relevant to water supply and sewerage providers, sensor manufacturers, ICT technologists and the like.

Day 2 is dedicated to developing themes and projects for ACQUEAU’s 2012 calls. Continuing the link with Day 1 we will be looking at Sensor developments for further improvements in on-line sampling and control of water processes.

In line with our Blue Book we will consider Low Energy Processes for Disinfection & Oxidation.  Treatment processes need to become more efficient in their use of energy and chemicals to reduce the environmental footprint and avoid the production of harmful by-products in the process (see Acqueau Blue Book 2, 2010).

Day 2 will be of interest to water treatment technologists, water supply and sewerage providers, sensor manufacturers, ICT technologists and others.

What is ACQUEAU?

The EUREKA Cluster ACQUEAU is an ‘Industry/Business led water network’, whose ultimate aim is to facilitate the generation of market driven, pan-European collaborative water research and technological development projects for the benefit of the European Water Industry. Through the Water supply and sanitation Technology Platform (WssTP) employing the principle of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), a ‘water vision’ for Europe has been identified by utilising knowledge from stakeholders, innovators, researchers, etc, involved in the water industry.

This vision, supported by a Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) outlines the future scenario for the water industry. By employing the SRA the water cycle has been further examined and a ‘technology roadmap’ has been produced which ‘leads the way’ so that all players ‘flow’ in the right direction.
