8th IWA International Conference on Water Reclamation and Reuse

Agbar is proud of sponsoring and organizing the 8th IWA International Conference on Water Reclamation and Reuse which will take place in Barcelona, Spain from 26 to 29 September 2011.

 The Conference will gather some of the best international experts on water reclamation and resue, with the aim of promoting productive intereaction between current knowledge, ongoing research and practical applications. The ultimate objective is to promote the exchange and sharing of knowledge and expertise. The Conference will include four parallel streams, with oral presentations, and a permanent poster exhibition on water reclamation and reuse, its best practical applications and its potential uses.

The conference themes

The Conference will cover the state of six knowledge fields:

1. Science in water reclamation and reuse

2. Reclaimed water in urban areas

3. Reclaimed water in industry

4. Reclaimed water in agriculture

5. Reclaimed water in the environment

6. Reclaimed water in recreation and landscaping

The overall perspectives within these knowledge fields are:

- Health protection

- Regulations and technology validation

- Public perception and acceptance

- Research for sustainability

 Exhibition

The Conference will offer a technical exhibition conveniently located at the Conference venue. Companies and institutions will have the opportunity to present their activities, their business offers and their technical innovations.

 Technical Visits

The technical visits will offer the possibility to directly know the practical aspects of water reclamation and reuse in several locations nearby Barcelona. The visits will take place on Thursday 29, the last day of the Conference.
