Event International Symposium on Sensing in Agriculture (AGRI_SENSING 2011)

The aim of this Symposium is to review research and development in the fields of remote and direct sensing systems and their future operational support in assuring sustainable agricultural production.

The increasing severity of water scarcity, reduced water quality, and environmental considerations require better sensing systems and their operational integration into agricultural production. Emerging technologies offer new opportunities for extracting dynamic information regarding plant and soil fertility status and assessment of water, nutrients, and other agrochemical input. The use of this information to facilitate efficient responses to situations evolving in the field requires sophisticated algorithms, models, and data processing systems. This symposium will look at sensing and information-processing tools and their integration into management systems. It will facilitate a meeting point between experts from the diverse fields of sensor systems, signal processing, and agriculture.
