Event Jordan Water Sector Orientation Visit

USTDA is funding an Orientation Visit that will host up to twelve Jordanian delegates to Washington, DC, Nevada and Southern California in anticipation of major procurements that are expected in the water sector, specifically in the areas of water loss reduction and reclaimed water.

Jordan is one of the ten most water-deprived countries in the world; its water consumption well exceeds the renewable supply, and lack of water is one of the most serious constraints to Jordan's economic growth.

In preparation for future equipment and technology purchases and to observe U.S. water management practices, the delegation will visit U.S.-based firms and public entities that specialize in technology and best practices surrounding the efficient use of water resources, and will attend the American Water Works Association's Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE09) in San Diego being held June 14-18, 2009.

A business briefing will be held in San Diego on June 14.
