1st World Congress on Communication for Development (WCCD)

The 1st World Congress on Communication for Development (WCCD) jointly organized by FAO, the World Bank and The Communication Initiative, will be held in Rome (Italy) from 25-27 October 2006 at FAO Headquarters.The congress will be structured around four broad thematic areas: Health, Governance and Empowerment, Sustainable Development, Emerging Sectors and New Frontiers. The aim of the conference is to promote the mainstreaming of communication into development policies and practices and to foster strategic partnerships in this field, and demonstrate that communication for development is essential for meeting current development challenges.
