implementation</b><br />
<br />
This period saw the establishment of a strong basis for the system,
with:<br />
<br />
• political support at the highest level<br />
<br />
• the development of a partnership spirit in the
countries<br />
<br />
• the installation of an operational and organisational
framework, which now operates satisfactorily with 20 National Focal Points
(with 14 national web sites launched), a technical unit, a Steering
Committee and a Co-ordination Committee<br />
<br />
• a successful policy to raise Mediterranean Partner
Countries’ (MPCs) awareness of the need for sharing information and for
adapting the system at national level<br />
<br />
• the training of National Focal Point teams on the
advanced techniques of knowledge management.<br />
<br />
