Initial Water SDI among
130 MCSD SDI (Sustainable Development Indicators):
- Access to safe drinking water
- Access to sanitation
- Agriculture water demand per irrigated area
- Water use efficiency for irrigation
- Equipped area in irrigation modern systems
- Exploitation index of renewable resources
- Non-sustainable water production index
- Share of samples water analysis not conform to quality standards
- Water quality global index
- Share of collected and treated wastewater by the public sewerage
system
- Existence of economic tools to recover the water cost in various
sectors
- Drinking water use efficiency
- Share of industrial wastewater treated on site
- Dams silting up rate
- Wetland area
- Ecosystems Water Demand
Improving integrated water resource and demand management: Water SDI agreed indicators
N. 1 - Water
efficiency index (total and per sector with reference objectives)
- Stabilize
water demand (decrease in the North and controlled increases in the South
and East). Reduce losses and misuses by setting up efficiency objectives for
each sector of use.
- Decouple water
demand and GDP growth and significantly increase the economic agriculture
added value per cubic metre of water used.
N. 2 - Water intensity index ratio compared to GDP and
research of evaluation of Water intensity irrigated agriculture production
added value compared with water demand for irrigation
- Stabilize water
demand (decrease in the North and controlled increases in the South and
East). Reduce losses and misuses by setting up efficiency objectives for
each sector of use.
- Decouple water
demand and GDP growth and significantly increase the economic agriculture
added value per cubic metre of water used.
N. 3 - Exploitation index of renewable water
resources
- Preserve water resources.
N. 4 Proportion of the population with access to safe
drinking-water (total, urban, rural) with reference to MDGs
- Achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) for access to
safe drinking-water and sanitation.
N. 5 Proportion of the population with access to sanitation
(total, urban, rural) with reference to MDGs
- Achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) for access to
safe drinking-water and sanitation.
