Priority / measure addressed: 1.1 Support to innovation and research in the process of local development of the Mediterranean Sea Basin countries, 2.2. Promotion of renewable energy use and improvement of energy efficiency contributing to addressing, among other challenges, climate change

Project idea: water related (Desalination) project using solar energy as driver, e.g. innovative high performance Solar - MSF / MED technology integrated with i- Nano Filtration / Forward Osmosis and salts precipitation pre treatment Systems and ii- salts/mineral recovery for (near) zero brine discharge

Partner profiles searched: EU partners (or applicant) in the field of Nano Filtration / Forward Osmosis / Salts/ Minerals Recovery or has Techno-economical Modeling

Short profile of the organisation (including related past/on going projects – max 10 lines)

The project will be lead by Dr. Hassan E. S. Fath; professor of Alexandria university (EGYPT) and head of Egyptian association for Water & Energy (EWE). He is expert in thermal desalination & renewable energy. Particpated in different RE-Desalination projects funded nationally, regionally and internationally.
