Euro-Mediterranean Information System on know-how in the Water sector - 5th Conference of the Water Directors of the Euro-Mediterranean and Southeastern European Countries, Athens (Greece), 2008-07-21/22<p>
The Hellenic Ministry for the Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works in coordination with the European Commission and the upcoming French Presidency of the European Union organise the “<strong>5th Conference of the Water Directors of the Euro-Mediterranean and Southeastern European Countries</strong>” that will take place on 21 and 22 July 2008, in Athens, Greece.

The main objective of the 5th Conference of the Water Directors will be the discussion and the reaching of agreement on technical issues relating to the preparations of <strong>the special ad hoc Euro-Mediterranean Ministerial Conference on Water</strong>, to take place in Jordan, on 29 October 2008. Thus, it will primarily focus on the discussion and provision of guidance for the finalisation of the first drafts of <strong>the background documents</strong> of the Ministerial, in line with the Conclusions of the 4th Conference of the Water Directors (10-11 December 2007, Bled) and the discussions at the Meeting of the Steering Committee for the preparation of the Ministerial (30 April 2008, Marrakech).
