Steering Committee

The EMWIS Steering Committee generally meets once a year. Following the decision to create EMWIS, made at the Euro-Med water directors conference in Naples in December 1997, the first Steering Committee meeting was held in 1998. Prior to this date, working groups (from 10 countries) met in order to carry out an EMWIS feasibility study and to prepare a directors' meeting. EMWIS Steering Committee is composed of the water directors from 13 Mediterranean countries (Algeria, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Spain and Turkey).
